Day 01 Delhi
Arrive into Delhi and transfer to the hotel.
Day 02 Delhi
In
the morning after your breakfast at the hotel leave for a full day city tour
of Delhi visiting the old and new quarters of this British capital city of India.
Visit the Jama mosque and the Rajghat the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi drive past
the Red Fort and reach the India Gate and the Presidential Palace. Later visit
the Qutub Minar and the Humayun’s tomb.
Day 03 Delhi – Udaipur
In the morning you are transferred to the domestic airport for your flight
to Udaipur. Upon your arrival in the “city of lakes” get transferred
to your hotel.
After lunch at your hotel city tour of Udaipur visiting the City Palace and
the Sahelion ki Bari. In the evening enjoy a boat cruise on lake Pichhola with
the setting sun.
Day 04 Udaipur – Jaipur
In the morning visit the temples at Eklingji and Nagda, both from the 15th
century, en route to Jaipur.
Reach Jaipur by late evening and retire to your rooms in the comfort of the
hotel
Day 05 Jaipur
In the morning a visit to the Amber fort is included. We reach the fort on elephant
back like the erstwhile maharajas of the region. See the beautiful Shish Mahal
and the Jasmandir inside the fort complex.
Later visit the observatory built in the 18th century and off course the city
palace that is an actual residence of the present king of Jaipur. Take time
off to visit the carpet manufacturing units in this region an also worth a visit
are the stone cutting and polishing factories of Jaipur.
Day 06 Jaipur – Fatehpur Sikri – Agra
Leave
for Agra in the morning visiting Fatehpur Sikri on the way.
See the Panch mahal and the Diwan-i-am and the palace of Jodhabai; the Hindu
queen of Akbar who bore him his only son. Reach Agra by early evening. Rest
of the day is at leisure.
Day 07 Agra
In the morning visit the Red fort – the stronghold of the Mughal emperors.
See the palace that was converted into a prison for Shahjehan by his own son
Aurangzeb. Also visit the Diwan-i-am, Diwan-i-khas, Khas mahal and the Machhi
bhawan.
Today you have an appointment with the Tajmahal.
Visit the Tajmahal with its intricate latticed work and inlay work a building
that is unique in the entire world for its stunning balance and symmetry.
Day 08 Agra – Orchha – Khajuraho
Board the Shatabdi Express in the morning and reach Jhansi. Upon arrival in
Jhansi take your car to go to Orchha a short distance away. Orchha is a quaint
little town from the medieval period and the stronghold of the Bundela Rajput
clans. Visit the Jehangiri Mahal and the Raja Mahal to study the intricacies
of the mural paintings from the 16th century.
After lunch in Orchha proceed for Khajuraho and reach by early evening.
Day 09 Khajuraho – Varanasi
In the morning visit the eastern and western group of temples in Kahjuraho.
See the Kandariya Mahadev temple with its intricate carvings that are next to
none. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the airport for your flight
to Varanasi. Upon arrival in Varanasi visit the Bharat Mata temple that houses
a map of India in marble. Later witness the evening prayers of the Ganges at
the Prayag Ghat.
Day 10 Varanasi – Delhi
Early morning boat rides on the Ganges to witness the morning ablutions of the
Hindus by the rising sun. Also witness the cremation grounds along the Ganges
from the security of the boat. Visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple (Golden Temple),
Gyanvyapi kund and the mosque attached to it. Also see the BHU (Benares Hindu
University).
Return to your hotel for breakfast. After breakfast visit Sarnath the centre
for Buddhist pilgrims. Visit the archaeological museum with its rare artifacts
from 272BC. Also see the nearby ruins and the stupas. Also see the place where
Buddha preached his first sermon to his first five disciples.
In the afternoon flight to Delhi.
Reach Delhi and proceed for a farewell dinner with our manager for a tour
debrief.
Transfer to the international airport for your onward flight destination.
